REVIEW

This is one of the two Yves Saint Laurent Foundations in the world - the other, in Marrakech. The museum showcases the many marvellous works of Yves Saint Laurent in his career - from his childhood, his time as Christian Dior’s right-hand, to the time he launched his namesake brand.

This is a must-visit museum for lovers of fashion. The exhibitions change every several months and have archival collections displayed all over the property. I’ve had the opportunity to see the last three exhibitions and they are all very different from each other and a treat to see.

Do I recommend Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris?

HOT TIPS

  1. Show up in the afternoon - the museum space is quite small and the layout is a bit unpredictable (depending on the exhibit installed). Since the museum doesn’t have audioguides, you will need to read. Many people visit during the first couple hours of operation and its impossible to see the information cards with people crowding the works.

  2. Stop by Palais Galliera as well when you go to Musee Yves Saint Laurent - it’s Paris’ fashion museum and is only several steps away.
